Its the first PAX Unplugged, and our first big game convention here at Gold Piece Games.
Our first convention was METATOPIA a couple weeks ago, but that’s just a completely different animal. METATOPIA “is the place to unveil new ideas and new additions to existing material, and to share them with friends and peers, old and new.” Its a Festival as the website https://www.dexposure.com/m2017.html describes.
PAX Unplugged is being billed as taking the board game portion of PAX East and making its own convention with just more space and more stuff. Now, we’ve never been to PAX East, but according to the schedule there will be competitions, open gaming, rows and rows of vendors and demos (totally looking forward to this!) and some seminars and exhibitions.
Its the first one, its in Philadelphia, PA, and its supposedly booked for the same location next year. Philly isn’t too far away (still an overnight on each side), but we managed to get Saturday tickets, so we’ll spend the day and see what we can get out of it.
We’ll pass out business cards, make new friends, say hello to fresh ones from METATOPIA, and hopefully make some connections to help publish our games “Shen Wu” and “I’ll Take The Case!”.
